While watching this particular video which was nothing but a tutorial on how to make trees, a sudden thrill came over me I wanted to get up and go look for my paints and start painting. I am not a painter but I sort of enjoy doing it.
The excitement of mixing colors and seeing them magically turn into a new color, the awesomeness that gets spread on paper when you get your wand out.
The way the hand moves on paper sometimes, seeing what you are imagining in your head on paper is just fantastic it makes you want to paint your own world, jump right into it and become a part of that world.
What if someone somewhere is painting the exact same picture as you? Both of you want to jump in at the same time & meet at the very same favorite part of the painting. At the corner of the canvas, right under that tree where a gentle stream is flowing, with a tire swing above your head, a picnic basket right next to you asking you to open it.
With a path leading to an unknown possibility right along the stream, you decide to take that path, you find the exact combination of colors on the flowers as you had imagined them while painting , when you look closely, the paint is still wet and fresh mixing with other colors to make new ones. Just then a butterfly decided to tickle and you fall on the dark brown ground dust of the dry paint and move on.
Where was that turn you had painted? Right there!
Have you ever imagined walking inside a painting?

Some really surreal paintings, makes you want to forget the reality and live inside the paintings. His first solo exhibition “I have seen the labyrinth and it looks like a straight line”, he creates a world beyond the limits of a canvas.
Another amazing piece where he had also got a person to play live music on the guitar, a careful amalgamation of the sight and sound.
Also, one has to read his “Unposted letters”. These two words when read together can take me into a world full of stories, just the thought itself gives me goosebumps, so many untold stories, memories, thoughts…. just waiting to come alive. You have to read them to believe in the magic that comes out with art. You’ll read one and then there is no stopping.
Post inspired by the movie – What dreams may come! Also, it has been written in anticipation of the amazing India Art Fair which starts 31st January 2014 where I can’t wait to get lost in the corridors filled with art.
PS: This video pretty much sums up whatever I think about art in general
