I love to travel and I love to walk. But the one thing I love about seeing a place is to be seeing the city through its crowded streets, the hustle and bustle, the colors, the food and most importantly beautiful, old & hidden doors. I happened to be one in one of India’s famous markets called Chandni Chowk, famous for clothes, food, sweets, electronics, stationery and second hand books. I was in the kinari market which is so beautiful and colorful, it’s almost magical. It’s like I’ve hopped onto a time traveling machine. I’m casually walking enjoying the pan-wallah and the desi cookie maker trying to market their stuff with the usual bellowing over other sounds and I stumble upon this mini gully which leads to the entrances shown in the pictures. I stopped right there, turned left , admired the beautiful hand made work, I didn’t want to go back home and just stay there. I clicked them fast.
Old vintage style doors and windows make me happy. You want to see more such doors, you must travel to to Rajasthan and Jammu Kashmir, such amazing work and all hand made and hand painted.
