There are several movies out there but some are just different. One of them was Brave. My cousins call it an episode, many may not even like it like the rest of the Disney movies but I completely adore this movie and the Mother-Daughter relationship shown so beautifully. There are several movies about Father- Son relationships and Father – Daughter relationships but Brave was different.
Something else that made Brave a amazing was – Songs. Especially “Touch the Sky” performed by Julie Fowlis. The song defined Freedom.
The song is performed by Julie Fowlis who is a Scottish Folk Singer (Gaelic). Like I have previously mentioned in the blog posts that music makes me go crazy and so did this song. As soon as I finished seeing the movie I downloaded the song, read a little about the singer and heard a couple of more songs by her, this one surely takes the cake.
What followed next was a treasure. There was a short movie made about her by a couple of fans( Ian Rankin, Ricky Gervais and Phil Selway). Check it out.
The movie shows her roots and how she is trying to bring back the Gaelic music to the world. Her genre is majorly Celtic and I understood the reason why I connected with her music immediately. The reason is –

Something about the Flute, Violins and Bagpipes is magical and it is displayed in the videos shared above.
One can actually imagine being on the horse and running away to a distant land, doing what you want to do without any boundations. Touching the sky, flying away and feeling alive. Takes me back to the time when we used to live in the mountains.
